The BYU Men's Basketball Program is an embarrasement to the Mountain West Conference. Two years in a row with a first round loss in the NCAA Tournament. This quickly voids and discussion of them being the best in the conference. Meanwhile, UNLV has won 3 NCAA Tournament games in the past two seasons, reached 4 final fours, and won a national championship.
The Cougars were tied with the University of Missouri for the distinction of having the most NCAA Tournament appearances without having ever played in the Final Four. Now, thanks to 2008, they are alone in that category.
Great job BYU. Win a couple of NCAA Tournament games before you run your mouth.

As usual you have forced me to defend the indefensible. I think I'm up to the task.
BYU (or Christ's College as it's commonly known) has never been sanctioned by the NCAA. UNLV has. BYU has never had a scandal with cheating, recruiting, and coaching violations. UNLV has. BYU football has won a National Championship. UNLV has never played in the Championship game. BYU has a Heisman Trophy from their QB. I'll bet you can't name 2 past QB's from UNLV.
You see, BYU is superior to UNLV in ALL categories. Not just ahtletics but academia as well. There is nothing, NOTHING, that UNLV does better then BYU except party. And we both know that Sin City takes the cake in that category. Problem is The Lord doesn't much care about partying.

Thank you for feeding me that softball. The NCAA by their own admission was wrong against Tarkanian and UNLV (see other blogs I like down below, under Don't Ever Give Up: The Basketball Blog). Tarkanian won millions in his lawsuit against the NCAA (included in the blog Supreme Court documents for documentation). You won't read that in your local paper I guarantee you, but it is a fact.
Christ's College? Doth he not believe in free agency? Why can't I buy a coke on campus? I'm stuck with water and 7-up.
Yes, BYU Basketball is an embarassement, which is the subject of discussion.

Please refrain from citing "facts" that the rest of us are not privy to. They are not really facts but conjecture. Until you provide proof from the NCAA that you asertion is correct, it is an untruth.
As for coke on campus; sure you can buy one - without the caffeine! I thank the Lord that someone has the good sense to make important choices for those that cannot make for themselves.
And to finish you off yet again. I will concede the fact that college basketball sucks regardless of the teams that are playing. BYU, UNLV, Duke, UNC, et.al. Remember, it's COLLEGE BASKETBALL. Who gives a crap.
